DEADLINE: Innovation for Development Reporting Grant Programme (IDR)

The European Journalism Centre (EJC) has just launched the Innovation for Development Reporting Grant Programme (IDR), a media-funding project that aims to advance journalistic coverage of issues related to global development and the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals. The grants will fund stories that think outside of the newsroom box and aim to achieve a new and distinctive agenda for development coverage.

Journalists and relevant media outlets (see definition on website) that target audiences in one or more of the eight European countries with the highest net official development assistance are eligible to apply: France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.  Journalists and media outlets not based in the countries mentioned above, as well as freelancers, are ONLY eligible to apply as cooperation partners of admissible organisations.

The deadline to submit an application is March 25, 2013. There are no fees required for submitting an entry.
