DEADLINE: Knight-Wallace Fellows at Michigan

Event Date:
February 1, 2015

A new fellowship funded by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) is open to Canadian mid-career journalists for the study of energy and its effects.

The Knight-Wallace Fellows program at the University of Michigan brings together exceptional professionals from all branches of the media in the U.S. and abroad to share this life-changing experience. Fellows devise a personalized study plan with access to the courses and resources of the University of Michigan. Twice-weekly seminars bring together the best from the worlds of journalism and academia. Four months of study, reflection and growth at one of the world’s finest universities, nestled in one of the nation’s most livable cities. It is a time of expanding perspectives, intellectual growth and personal transformation.

We seek the best and brightest in Canadian journalism today, mid-career professionals with at least five years of experience and solid track records, great future promise and, above all, demonstrated leadership in some aspect of journalism. The fellowships will be offered for one semester each, either the fall (September through December) or for the winter semester (January through April).

Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $8,750.00 plus healthcare and tuition. Spouses are able to audit classes on campus. The program pays for international news tours for the Fellows (in 13/14 they traveled to Canada, Brazil, Argentina and Turkey).

Deadline to apply: February 1, 2015.
