The Kurt Schork Memorial Fund and Reuters annually award two $5,000 prizes, one to a local reporter in a developing country or nation in transition, and the other to a freelance journalist covering international news, to recognize independent and professional reporting that sheds new light on controversial issues. Apply by May 31, 2013.
The Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) through its Fund for Environmental Journalism (FEJ) is able to offer a third year of mini-grant opportunities in support of reporting projects and entrepreneurial journalism ventures related to the environment. Deadline for the Spring 2013 cycle is July 15th.
