The Solutions Journalism Network Story Fund, in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation, is accepting applications for support (up to $5,000) of reporting projects focused on scientific, technological, commercial, or policy responses to environmental, economic, and social challenges posed by the long-term warming of the Earth. DEADLINE: IRP Reporting Trip to Kazakhstan

The International Reporting Project is accepting applications until June 14th from U.S. journalists for a media reporting trip to Kazakhstan, a huge but little-known Asian country whose government has been active in global nuclear nonproliferation talks. The trip, August 3-14, 2013, is a unique opportunity to visit a key country of 17 million persons bordering Russia and China.

DEADLINE: The John Alexander Project's Above the Fray Fellowship

The Above the Fray fellowship is designed to give a promising journalist the opportunity to cover important but under-reported stories from a location abroad. The fellow will be selected based on a winning proposal to report from a region lacking significant mainstream media attention. The selected individual will spend three months filing on-air and online stories for NPR. Apply online by July 1, 2013.
