Supreme Court Review & Preview

Event Date:
September 25, 2012

Each October the U.S. Supreme Court begins a new term. And each year, ELI convenes a national seminar with some of the pre-eminent experts on the Supreme Court and environmental law to examine the potential significance for environmental law of both the Court's rulings from its past term, as well as the cases already on the Court's docket for its new term.

This year, our panel will discuss the potential significance for environmental lawyers of the Court's decision in National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius, the Court's ruling and likely rulings in a series of Clean Water Act cases decided last term and to be argued this term, and several other environmental cases pending before the Court.

When: September 25, 2012, 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM

Speakers:

  • John C. Cruden, President, Environmental Law Institute (moderator)
  • Laurence H. Tribe, Carl M. Loeb University Professor, Harvard Law School
  • Richard J. Lazarus, Howard and Katherine Aibel Professor of Law, Harvard Law School
