The 2019 Fromson Journalism Fellowship, May 31-Jun 7 in Israel, is for journalists who cover environment, renewable energy, water research and innovation. Theme is "AgTech in the Negev". Applications are due by May 1; however, selections will be made on an ongoing basis up to the deadline.

This annual workshop, hosted by Orion Magazine and the Omega Center for Sustainable Living, connects you with leading writers/editors. The Pulitzer Prize-winning news organization InsideClimate News' summer journalism program is for high school students and recent grads to explore the nation's most pressing environmental concerns, Jul 5-17, 2020, through ambitious journalism immersed in the rugged coast of Maine at the College of the Atlantic. Scholarships available. Deadline: May 1.

The Alfred Wegener Institute invites proposals from media professionals to spend six weeks aboard a Russian icebreaker reporting on a climate research mission in the Arctic, mid-September to late October 2019. Apply by Mar 15.

This one-year fellowship, honoring the pioneering African-American activist and investigative reporter, promotes diversity in journalism by helping to create a pipeline of investigative reporters of color who bring diverse backgrounds, experiences, and interests to their work. Fellows receive $25,000, travel and other costs, editorial guidance from a dedicated editor at Type Investigations and more. Deadline is Mar 12, 2023.

The Native American Journalists Association and NBCUniversal are partnering to give NAJA member-students real world experience and exposure to one of the world’s leading news divisions as a paid summer 2023 intern.  Deadline to apply is Feb 10.

The Institute for Journalism & Natural Resources invites journalists on an expenses-paid learning expedition down the Lower Mississippi to get a first-hand look at some of the stories along its shores, April 24-May 1, 2019, visiting small river towns to large global ports as we travel from St. Louis to New Orleans. Apply by Feb 22.

InsideClimate News, the Pulitzer Prize-winning national nonprofit newsroom, will hold a free, two-day training for about ~12 winning applicants from March 7-8, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. The workshop will be focused on business journalism and center on covering the clean-energy economy in the Midwest. Deadline is Feb 1.

This fellowship provides support to international journalists who enroll in one of nine graduate programs in journalism at New York University's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute (including Science, Health and Environmental Reporting). Deadline: Jan 15, 2024.
