On a rainy Thursday morning,
on the first day of the SEJ conference,
members of SEJ walk through a
contaminated area on Aberdeen Proving
Ground called "J-Field." The site is
being decontaminated by using hybrid
poplar trees to absorb contamination in
the soil and ground water. Aberdeen also
has one of the largest wildlife
refuges.
