"Climate: Court Rules Mann Can Proceed With Defamation Suit"

"Climate scientist Michael Mann can proceed with defamation claims against two writers who accused him of fraud and misconduct related to his iconic 'hockey stick' graph of global warming trends, a panel of three judges on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals ruled today.

The decision marks the third time courts in Washington have rejected efforts from the National Review and the conservative Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) to dismiss the Pennsylvania State University professor's lawsuit.

Mann filed the suit in October 2012 after National Review writer Mark Steyn quoted a CEI blog post written by Rand Simberg that called Mann the 'Jerry Sandusky of climate science,' referring to the convicted child molester. It also accused Mann of fraud."
