"Coal: Court Rejects Trump EPA's Bid To Halt W.Va. Water Cleanup"

"Federal appeals judges denied the Trump administration's motion yesterday to halt a lower-court order requiring U.S. EPA to address water pollution linked to coal mining in West Virginia.

In a 2-1 decision, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said it would not stay the February order issued by Chief Judge Robert Chambers of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.

The administration had asked for the stay while the 4th Circuit considers its appeal of the order. EPA argues the order would force it to spend up to $6 million to develop plans to clean up West Virginia water bodies with high conductivity levels."
