"Congressional Democrats Form Climate Change Task Force"

"WASHINGTON -- Climate change is getting renewed attention in Congress. Representative Henry Waxman of California and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, both Democrats, today announced the formation of a Task Force on Climate Change that will be active in both the House and the Senate."

"Inspired by President Barack Obama's statement in his inaugural address that failing to respond to the threat of climate change would "betray our children and future generations," the task force aims to focus Congressional and public attention on developing effective policy responses, and will be open to all Members of Congress interested in collaborating on this issue.

The Task Force will be co-chaired by Waxman, who serves as the Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Whitehouse, who chairs the Subcommittee on Oversight for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee."
