"Girls living nearest to the Fukushima nuclear disaster zone have almost a 70 per cent increased risk of thyroid cancer, the World Health Organisation says."
"Their lifetime chances of getting the disease rose by two-thirds, from 0.75 per cent to 1.25 per cent.
The increased risk of other cancers for people living near the Fukushima Daiichi power plant is similar to that of living in a polluted city, scientists said."
