"Landmark Ruling on Sage Grouse Draws Mixed Reviews"

"The greater sage grouse, a bird whose habitat is spread across 11 Western states, has been saved by collaborative conservation effort and won't be listed as endangered or threatened, the Interior Department announced Tuesday.

The decision, which drew mixed reviews from environmentalists and industry groups, ends a controversial and expensive struggle to save the greater sage grouse without the need for additional protections that could further squeeze oil and gas producers and ranchers.

The Interior Department, trumpeting a 'huge #Wildlifewin' on social media, credited collaboration between business and government with saving the little birds."
