Congratulations to SEJ member Justin Gerdes, an independent journalist from Concord, California, who won the raffle of a free room at the Overton Hotel in Lubbock. Thanks, Justin, for being one of the members who registered for the Lubbock conference by July 4th!

Registration is now closed. Walk-ins are welcome in Lubbock, although some events and tours may be full.

WHAT YOU SHOULD ALSO KNOW:

Secure online payment is part of your online form. Be sure to use your exact billing address or the
payment will not go through.

Registration can be confirmed only when payment is received.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your registration in writing by September 17, 2012, you will receive a
full refund less a $50 processing fee. Non-attendance does not constitute cancellation. Substitutions
may be made. Email, mail or fax your request for cancellation to Convention Management Services, Inc.

Registration covers: Wednesday opening reception, Friday and Saturday continental breakfasts and

lunches, breakout and plenary sessions. There are extra fees for the Wednesday workshop ($60), Thursday

tours (range from $35-$40), Friday night dinner and movie ($25), Saturday reception ($25) and Sunday

brunch ($25). These minimal charges help defray catering and transportation costs. Post-conference
tours carry a more substantial charge and cover most of your costs from Sunday afternoon to Thurs. See

each tour for details.

SEJ Members:

Online registration for members is closed. You can download and fax the registration form until 5:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, October 16th. Walk-ins in Lubbock are welcome, although tours and catered events may be full.

We know how expensive it is to attend conferences — and we know how valuable they are to you — so we've kept member rates as low as possible. Other ways to save at the conference are roommate matching and/or carpooling (members only; you'll need your log-in info).

Important instructions for registering as a member of SEJ

Member rates apply to SEJ members only. SEJ membership is restricted to journalists, professors
and students. First, read SEJ’s eligibility criteria. If you believe you're eligible, apply
online. SEJ's membership screening committee will make every effort to screen your application
quickly. However, membership applications submitted after Sept. 17, 2012, may not be processed
in time for the conference.

Membership applicants: do not include your new member fees with conference registration. You
must apply as directed above.

Current members only: You may include your dues payment of $70 (students, $40, Canadian
members, $70; Mexican members, $35) with your registration fee. You must already be a member
of SEJ to renew with conference registration.

Subscriptions to SEJ’s quarterly newsletter, SEJournal, include conference fee
discounts for up to three people per professional subscription. Note: each person must register, making reference to the subscriber name; the subscriber would not list these as guests.
