The annual Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference is a forum for journalists, writers, readers, students, educators and the general public to listen to, be inspired by and practice their craft at the highest possible level.
The Conference was created by the University of North Texas' Mayborn School of Journalism to enhance the quality of nonfiction writing, encourage innovation, and create a community of factual storytellers who maintain an unflinching faith in the narrative craft.
The 2013 Mayborn Conference will take place July 19-21 in Dallas, Texas. Conference attendees have the opportunity to submit their best writing samples to the annual Mayborn Writing Competition. Winners can win cash and prizes in three categories: personal essay, reported narrative and book manuscript. The top 50 entry writers are offered the opportunity to attend a day-long workshop the day prior to the conference start-date.
