Canadian Government Drafts New 3-Year Open Government Plan [1]
Canada's federal government has drafted a plan for improving its transparency and openness — and is inviting comments before a June 30, 2016, deadline.
The draft plan has been published online here. [2]
The plan is partly a response to the international project called the Open Government Partnership. [3] While the current draft plan is for 2016-2018, previous versions of the plan [4] were for 2014-2016 and 2012-2014.
Overall goals of the new draft plan are to make all government data and information open by default and to eliminate all fees except for an initial $5 filing fee.
