SEJ publications help you keep
up with the world of environmental
journalism and stay on top of news
events. Members receive
electronic access to SEJournal as
soon as it goes to the printer, and
receive TipSheet and
the Environmental Events
Calendar via e-mail. EJToday brings you the day's
most interesting stories in print and on the air, including stories submitted by users of the site. WatchDog TipSheet,
with a focus on FOI issues of concern to
environmental journalists, is available
via email and web archives. TipSheet,
WatchDog TipSheet, EJToday and the Calendar are also offered
as RSS feeds. The Environmental Journalism Gallery is
SEJ's library of prize-winners and
projects. SEJournal
Excerpts showcase selected
stories about environmental journalism
from the current
SEJournal. You can advertise in SEJ publications, including on www.sej.org.

SEJ office to sign up for any of the above. Want to advertise in the SEJournal? Here's how.
SEJournal
SEJournal is the
quarterly newsletter of the Society of
Environmental Journalists. To preserve
SEJournal's editorial independence, its
editorial policies are set by an eight-member
editorial board that
includes the
SEJournal
editor, who is
selected by the editorial board. The editorial
board's other seven members are appointed to
staggered three-year terms by the
SEJ Board of Directors.
SEJournal welcomes submissions from
or about the environmental journalism community;
please contact
Editor
Mike Mansur for details. The current
issue is available only to members (and
via mail to subscribers); back issues
are archived in Adobe
Acrobat (PDF) format. To display or
print them, get the free Adobe Acrobat ®
reader. Note: Issues prior to
Spring 1995 are scanned page images and
are not searchable but are otherwise of
high quality. The files are larger than
true PDFs, ranging from 2.3 to 4.2
megabytes each. Advertise in the SEJournal.
Each issue includes: In-depth stories on hot topics on the environment beat; regular features such as Inside Story (interviews with and insights of journalists of winning work); Bits & Bytes and Reporter's Toolbox (practical, technical how-to's, from choosing a recorder to using Excel to photography); Research Roundup; Science Survey; Media on the Move; SEJ President's Report; E-Reporting Biz; Bookshelf (environmental book reviews) and The Beat (latest news trends from various media). See the Table of Contents of the current issue, Spring 2008.
TipSheet
TipSheet provides
biweekly news tips to notify
journalists of potential environmental
stories and sources. Each issue is posted here within
one day of publication.
TipSheet is a joint product of
the Society of Environmental
Journalists, and the Radio and
Television News Directors
Foundation. Journalists are eligible for a free email subscription; send name and
full contact information to the SEJ office.
WatchDog TipSheet
Searchable archives of the biweekly
WatchDog TipSheet's story ideas, articles,
updates, events and other information with a focus
on freedom-of-information issues of concern to
environmental journalists in both the U.S. and Canada
are posted here on the day of publication. Includes a database of State
FOI Resources and Actions. Journalists are eligible for a free email subscription; send name and
full contact information to the SEJ office.
EJ Today and the Environmental Journalism Gallery
SEJ provides a selective,
daily web-based listing of annotated
links to an array of interesting and
important stories on environmental
topics, compiles them in a searchable
database, and displays prize-winners
and special series in a permanent
web-based "gallery". EJToday is available
as a free daily email digest called SEJ-beat which
summarizes the day's postings. SEJ members are
subscribed automatically; non-members may subscribe
here.
Calendar
SEJ's Environmental Events
Calendar is e-mailed weekly to SEJ
members. Current listings are
also maintained at this site. You can submit an item to
the calendar; all submissions will be
reviewed by SEJ staff before posting,
and may be rejected if not of interest
to or open to attendance by
environmental journalists.
