TRAC Launches New Site To Track FOIA Lawsuits

April 6, 2011

If you are a journalist you may be working for people who live in dread of having to file a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit to support your work. Your publishers may not be aware how many pro bono lawyers are out there looking for cases to take up. Now there's a new tool that will help not only the FOIA lawyers, but you.

A site to track lawsuits against federal government defendants for withholding information has just been launched by TRAC (the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse). It is based on documents filed in court through existing systems like PACER.
