NY Times Mulls Creating 'EZ Pass Lane for Leakers'

Got leaks? Unauthorized disclosures from whistleblowers inside the government have for decades been a mainstay of investigative journalism. Despite consternation about Wikileaks' massive dump of State Department memos, most leaks are still legal.

The New York Times apparently thinks leaks may be essential to journalism and democracy — which is why Times boss Bill Keller is looking at the possibility of creating an electronic 'EZ Pass lane for leakers.'
