Enter a published nonfiction book covering a topic of environment journalism, published between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2012. Note: Memoirs and picture books are not eligible.

If you are sending hard copies, complete your online form and payment before shipping the four copies of your book. Books without an entry form and payment will not be sent to judges.

After filling out your entry form,  ship FOUR copies of the book with a copy of the cover letter to:

Have your cover letter ready to upload as you complete the form. Be sure to fill in all required fields! If you miss one, you'll lose any files you've uploaded and you'll have to attach them again. Your other information will remain intact, but you'll have to attach files for your cover letter and other files again. You can recognize required fields by the red asterisk for all fields except upload fields. Uploaded cover letters ARE REQUIRED. 1,000 word maximum.

Books that are not in English must include a complete translation.

When the form is complete, you will be redirected to a secure payment site where you can pay instantly by credit card or opt to mail a check. Your entry will not be considered until payment is received.

Online entry forms must be received by April 1, midnight your local time. Shipped materials must be postmarked April 1, 2013. If you have questions, email Awards Director Chris Bruggers or call her at (502) 641-1844.

A cover letter is required. A cover letter may be from the entrant or another person such as an editor. It is strictly limited to 1000 words. You may describe difficulties you overcame to report the stories, outcomes resulting from the publication of the stories, or whatever you want to convey so judges can appreciate the value of your entry. PDF only, 8MB maximum.
