About Me Born in Ithaca, NY, USA, Dr, Mario Rossi maintains, as a dual citizen, residences in Florence, Italy and New York. Dr. Rossi in an expert with a PhD in environmental economics and has led design efforts on over 200 different projects in his 18 years professional experience. His background is unique as a practitioner in what has been called "agritecture" in an equilibrated mix between environmental sciences, sustainable architecture, (LEED based), landscape design, research and efficient creative thinking. He is a professional in the sustainable design sector, with many successful experiences in ecological & landscape restoration, planning, with a profound knowledge of sustainable landscape architecture/design, (LEED rated), history, botany, pedology, erosion control and storm water management, aerial photogrammetry and mapping for integrating field work with design. He has worked as Design Director, Senior Landscape Architect and Planner for master plans, environmental impact assessment and projects in Italy, the Middle East and USA. His recent work, to list a few, includes the concept design of the Central Park of the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, the phase one of the Arabian Canal, the new airport project in Abu Dhabi, planning sustainable large developments within LEED standards, (Jebeli Ali Village), high rises sustainable and green solutions, (green rooftops, green walls and vertical gardens), Waterfront, in Dubai, Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjia Wedding House, the proposal for the landscape of the Al Ain Presidential Palace and the new Massoudi Park in Al Ain. In the past Dr. Rossi had the honor of teaching, training and mentoring college students from Architecture, Agriculture, Ecology, Forestry, Planning and Urban design Faculties at Florence University, in Italy and at the New York Bronx Botanical Garden, Horticulture School, USA He’s currently freelancing as guest lecturer for history of design, digital art, motion graphics and digital projects management at SAE Institute, Dubai, UAE. He is interested in expanding and sharing his visions with reports from damaged environments.
