About Me I have worked as a global freelance investigative journalist for the last 15 years. I am currently EU correspondent in Brussels and I have reported from around 30 countries on provisional assignments. I contribute to leading international print and online media published in different languages, including the Guardian (UK), The Christian Science Monitor (U.S.), Inter Press Service (international), European Voice (Belgium), Le Monde Diplomatique (France), La Repubblica (Italy), NRC Handelsblad (The Netherlands). As a former Fulbrighter and International Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley School of Journalism, I got a mid-career training in international reporting on development, environment and food security as well as in digital contents production and entrepreneurial journalism. My crowdsourcing project "Mobile Reporter" won the Google-funded IPI News Challenge Contest 2012 and previously qualified for the semi-finals of the Berkeley Business Plan Competition 2010 in front of a jury of VCs from the Silicon Valley. Since 2010 my investigatve reporting activity has received support through grants from a number of journalism organizations, including the U.S.-based Society of Environmental Journalists and Fund for Investigative Journalism and the Brussels-based European Fund for Investigative Journalism and Fonds Pascal Decroos. In 2008 I founded my own customized newswire Euroreporter (euroreporter.eu), the freelance journalism platform on green globalization FreeReporter (freereporter.info) and the non-profit association Reporters for Interactive, Cooperative and Specialized Information (RICSI). In 2006 I won the Citigroup Journalism Excellence Award for the best business story in Italy. I had the opportunity to present my ideas, projects and work as a speaker at different seminars and events around the world, including the Occasional Lecturer Program at CUNY School of Journalism and the School Communication at the University of Miami, the Global Investigative Journalism Conference, the Online News Association annual conference, the Investigative Reporters and Editors annual conference, the International Journalism Festival and the International Conference on Electronic Publishing. I hold a master degree in Political Science, International Relations, at the University of Rome "la Sapienza"
