| About Me | Tara Waters Lumpkin has been involved in environmental journalism as both a writer and researcher since 1988 when she interned for High Country News, an environmental newspaper based in Paonia, Colorado, that covers the American West. She has published poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, and has won more than half a dozen writing prizes, fellowships, and grants. She is currently at work on an eco-memoir, Throwing the Bones. In addition, she has been a Professor in the Department of Writing and Media at Loyola College, Maryland. Tara also has a PhD in Environmental and Medical Anthropology. She has conducted research on the environment in Namibia, Rwanda, Kenya, South Africa, Panama, and Tibet. |
