The East-West Center in Honolulu is accepting applications until Jun 17 for the 2019 China-United States Journalists Exchange: Aug 31-Sep 13 to visit Beijing, Hangzhou and Hong Kong (for US journalists) and Sep 8-14, to visit Des Moines, Iowa and Washington, DC (for Chinese journalists).

The 6 free seminars, established by Metcalf Institute for Marine & Environmental Reporting to honor Lord’s outstanding contributions to environmental journalism, take place in 2012-2013 and are open to Southern New England journalists reporting for Rhode Island audiences. Next in the series is Predicting and Responding to Extreme Weather Events on September 20, 2013. Space is limited; apply asap.

The East-West Center in Honolulu is accepting applications until October 8th for the 2014 Pakistan-United States Journalists Exchange, March 30-April 19, 2014. Pakistani journalists visit Washington, D.C., New York City and Columbia, Missouri. U.S. journalists visit Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, Pakistan.

The Alicia Patterson Foundation awards grants of $40,000 for twelve months and $20,000 for six months (includes covering costs of travel and research costs) to working journalists to pursue independent projects of significant interest and to write articles based on their investigations for The APF Reporter. Apply by Nov 1.

The International Center for Journalists is accepting applications until August 10th from U.S. journalists under 30 years of age to take part in the first round, Nov 26-Dec 20, 2012, of the Young Media Professionals Exchange Program, a two-year initiative between the United States and Russia, funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Fellowships (academic year, fall or spring) are awarded to scholars who have demonstrated achievement in advanced post-doctoral study. A limited number of designated fellowships for scholarship concerning nature, environmental history or ecological concerns are usually available. Apply by Oct 5, 2023.
