"Interior: Zinke Unveils Reorganization Plan"

"Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke today [Wednesday] rolled out the department's proposed management design, which would shift most bureaus into 12 'unified regions.'

In a memo sent to Interior's 70,000 employees, and a related memo sent to Senior Executive Service personnel, Zinke shared the highly anticipated management map that's been in the works for a number of politically fraught months.

'Our new Unified Regions will allow important decisions to be made nearer to where our stakeholders and intergovernmental partners live and work, and will make joint problem-solving and improved coordination between our Bureaus and other Federal, State, and local agencies easier,' Zinke wrote."
