Watchdog Group Seeks Details of Issa's Regulatory Hit List [1]
Will industry lobbyists be writing the regulations meant to protect the public, now that GOPers are running the House of Representatives? Darrell Issa (R-CA) wrote some 150 industry groups December 8, 2010, asking them each for their wish-list of regulatory reforms.
Issa promised to make public both his letters and the industry responses to them, but the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has been complaining about slowness in these disclosures. Now CREW has started publishing the industry wish-lists on its own — including in some cases full texts of industry letters back to Issa.
