Freelance Journalism Summer Camp (Virtual)

This fun and intensive online course, run by full-time freelance journalist Abigail Edge [1], is an inspired DIY retreat for any freelance journalist feeling the urge to take stock and refresh their career goals. Students will be divided into virtual cabins and over the course of four weeks we'll cover everything from pitching and ideas to branding and business skills, with Q&A sessions that take place around a Zoom campfire (bring your own s'mores).

Freelance Journalism Summer Camp [2] is suitable for anyone who works or wants to work in news, magazine and online journalism, although TV and broadcast journalists, photojournalists and video journalists will also find it useful.

This course is not suitable for beginners, and some previous journalism experience is required. You must be aged 18 or over to attend.
