From the Slush Pile to the Bookshelf: Strategies for Getting Published

Do you have a manuscript that you’re ready to submit for publication or one in the works? Are you interested in learning about the publishing process and ways to get into print?  Novelist Pam Jenoff went from being an unpublished author to an international bestseller with no special contacts or shortcuts. A longtime student of Janet Benton's and the author of four published novels, Jenoff will share the lessons she’s learned that have enabled her continuing success. Topics will include perfecting your query letter, getting an agent, finding the right market, promoting your book, and surviving in the changing book business.

Pam Jenoff worked at the Pentagon and the State Department (in Krakow, Poland) before becoming a lawyer. She is currently an attorney and a law professor. Jenoff is the author of The Kommandant's Girl, which was an international bestseller and nominated for a Quill award, as well as The Diplomat's Wife, Almost Home, and A Hidden Affair. Her fifth novel is due out shortly. Her Web site is www.pamjenoff.com [1].

WHEN: Saturday, March 12, 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
