"Six Die as 200 mph Tornado Howls Across Texas" [1]

"AUSTIN, Texas -- Six people have lost their lives and nearly 100 others were injured as tornadoes touched down in north-central Texas overnight. More than 100 homes were damaged or destroyed."

"Thunderstorms with heavy rain and large hail swept the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and southern Oklahoma. National Weather Service meteorologists  conducting damage surveys say, 'The very early data suggests that there were at least 10 tornadoes late yesterday afternoon and overnight.'

Hardest hit was the small Texas town of Granbury in Hood County. The National Weather Service said winds moving at up to 200 miles per hour destroyed homes and knocked out power to the area."

Environment News Service had the story May 16, 2013. [2]
