The Obama administration's openness on science — or lack thereof — will be front and center as the topic of a discussion panel at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011.

The National Press Club, in a building that houses offices of many news organizations, often makes news with such discussion panels. The Oct. 3 event is sponsored by the National Press Club, Columbia Journalism Review, Society of Environmental Journalists, the Association of Health Care Journalists, and Reporters Without Borders.

Panelists will include: Curtis Brainard, CJR science editor; Joseph A. Davis, Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) WatchDog editor; Felice Freyer, Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ); Darren Samuelsohn, Politico’s senior energy/environment reporter; and Clothilde Le Coz, Reporters Without Borders energy/environment reporter.
