Reporters Committee, Others Launch FOIA Wiki Beta: Help Is on the Way [1]

October 12, 2016

A promising new resource has begun helping reporters trying to use the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to pry loose government information relevant to their stories. The "FOIA Wiki" is a collaborative and explanatory collection of information meant to help you.

It combines the accessibility of "at-a-glance" guides for FOIA newbies with the friendly mentoring on pro-tips that can come in an online forum. It was developed primarily by the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press — with contributions from The FOIA Project at TRAC, MuckRock, FOIA Mapper, and online participants. RCFP already publishes a vast collection of freedom-of-information aides for journalists.
