The Award is given by the New York Public Library to the author(s) of outstanding, full-length books resulting from print, broadcast, or electronic journalism that raises public awareness of current issues, events or policies. Winner receives a $15,000 prize. Nomination deadline is Sep 3, 2025.
The Alicia Patterson Foundation awards fellowship grants of $40,000 for 12 months and $20,000 for six months (including at least one for science or environmental topics) to working journalists to pursue independent projects of significant interest and to write articles based on their investigations. The International Center for Journalists is accepting applications until August 10th from U.S. journalists under 30 years of age to take part in the first round, Nov 26-Dec 20, 2012, of the Young Media Professionals Exchange Program, a two-year initiative between the United States and Russia, funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
Fellowships (academic year, fall or spring) are awarded to scholars who have demonstrated achievement in advanced post-doctoral study. A limited number of designated fellowships for scholarship concerning nature, environmental history or ecological concerns may be available. Apply by Oct 2, 2025.
Fifteen fellows, chosen from US professionals 40 years or younger, will complete a 9- to 12-month professional development program consisting of high-level work phases in major German institutions and a traveling, European-wide seminar series. The annual Mayborn Conference in Dallas gathers some of the most talented storytellers in the country to share their stories, life-changing experiences and expertise with aspiring writers through three days of lectures, panels, one-on-one sessions, and student classes. Includes a variety of writing contests with cash prizes.
