InquireFirst has launched a new reporting grant initiative, Mountains and Jungle: Voices from the Andes and the Amazon to support projects on the impact of infrastructure (hydroelectric dams, international highways, mining and energy, for example) on the biodiversity of the Andes-Amazon region (Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia).
The environmental reporting grant is available for any journalist working in Latin America and the projects will be written in Spanish and translated to English and Portuguese for publication in three languages.
The grant amount is $3,000USD and InquireFirst will provide editorial support -- an editor, microsite designer, infographics, photography, and translators (Spanish-English and Spanish-Portuguese). InquireFirst will also work with the reporter on publication/distribution of the project.
