DEADLINE: Collier Prize for State Government Accountability

The Collier Prize for State Government Accountability [1] at the University of Florida is one of the largest journalism prizes in the United States. It is designed to encourage coverage of state-level government in every state, focusing on investigative and political reporting. The prize, announced annually at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner,  recognizes the best U. S. professional reporting on state government accountability in any medium or on any platform and is available to any news organization.

The 2026 prize will consist of one $25,000 winner, one $5,000 winner and one $2,500 winner. Prize money is paid to the news organization that published the winning/nominated entries.

There are not separate sub-divisions for market size or circulation.
