Facebook's Journalism Project announces a new opportunity for U.S. writers creating public interest journalism in their communities. They’re committing $5 million to support local journalists interested in starting or continuing their work on their new platform for independent writers which you can learn more about here [1].
Applications are open until May 20, 2021 at 11:59 pm ET for those looking to gain access to this new platform and the services they are offering to build an independent business. They’re partnering with a number of nonprofits including the International Center for Journalists [2] (ICFJ) and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists [3] (NAHJ) to share this opportunity with their networks. ICFJ and NAHJ will help evaluate applications as well.
