Delaware River Basin Interactive Map [1]
On July 31, 2018, the Environment America Research & Policy Center unveiled an interactive map of the Delaware River watershed [2]. The map allows journalists, policymakers, and citizens to pinpoint pollution sources and other threats to this important water source for drinking, wildlife and recreation.
The map was created using >5,000 data points from more than a dozen sources to major pollution threats in the basin, including:
- runoff from agriculture and impervious surfaces;
- 660+ industrial sources;
- 250+ sewage treatment plants; and
- fossil fuel infrastructure such as pipelines, abandoned coal mines, and refineries.
