SEJ Protests SBA "No Journalists" Environmental Roundtable [1]

February 21, 2020

The Small Business Administration announced an "environmental roundtable [2]" Feb. 28, as being “open to all interested persons, with the exception of the press." The Society of Environmental Journalists, through its Freedom of Information Task Force, has protested this in a Feb 21 letter (full text [3]).

"By excluding the press," wrote Task Force Chair Timothy B. Wheeler, "you cast a shadow of suspicion that these roundtables are somehow a private back door to influencing the federal government."

Some reporters are expected to show up anyway.
