World Press Freedom Day Conference [5]

Belgium and UNESCO will host the 32nd World Press Freedom Day Conference in Brussels. This year's theme is "Reporting in the Brave New World: The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Press Freedom and the Media." A one-day in-person event will take place on May 7 on information as a public good in the age of AI.

Environmental Journalists on the Frontlines of Democracy [6]

Prior to this year's World Press Freedom Day, the Wilson Center’s Environmental Change and Security Program, in partnership with SEJ, will celebrate the important role of environmental journalism and highlight the need to protect journalists around the world from surveillance, censorship, oppression and violence. 10am ET.
