Since 2010, Cinema Verde International Environmental Film and Arts Festival [1] in Gainesville, FL has hosted a multidisciplinary program of film, music, visual arts exhibitions, workshops, and public forums focused on broad themes related to the environment and cultural and economic sustainability.
The goal of the Festival, which is directed by SEJ member Trish Riley, is to provide environmental education to the public through film, arts, workshops, events, tours and any other forum or media; to increase public awareness of environmental practices that enhance public health and improve quality of life in urban, suburban and rural settings.
We’ve selected 75 films for our hybrid festival, and will screen 35 of those films in person at Cypress and Grove Brewing Co. in Gainesville in celebration of Earth Day.
