World Resources Institute and National Geographic Society host a half-day conference entitled “Open Data in a Closing World,” featuring keynotes by former EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy and astronaut Mae Jemison.
The event coincides with the launch of WRI’s new data platform, Resource Watch [1], that will provide high-quality, trusted and easily accessible data to make informed decisions about the environment and human development.
Panels include discussions on technology for a sustainable future featuring reps from Google, Descartes Labs and on data journalism with Politico’s Emily Holden, Maggie Koerth-Baker from Five-Thirty-Eight and Leslie Shapiro of the Washington Post.
The event in Washington, DC is sold out but you can join in the livestream here [2] at 9:00amET.
