"60 Years of Waste Must Go at Delphi Casino Site" [1]

"General Motors and Delphi Corp. spent 60 years making door and trunk latches, seat-belt fasteners and other metal parts for cars and trucks before shutting the Franklin Township factory in 2007.

They also dumped thousands of tons of waste sludge into three unlined lagoons.

Those lagoons might pose the largest environmental obstacle for Penn National Gaming of Reading, Pa., the company that plans to demolish the factory and build a casino on the 114-acre property.

Eric Schippers, a Penn National spokesman, promises a thorough cleanup."

Spencer Hunt reports for the Columbus Dispatch January 31, 2010.
