"The House passed a last-minute bill Dec. 21 to extend the National Flood Insurance Program through May.

Lawmakers voted 315-to-48 to pass S. 3628 just hours before the program was set to expire.

The measure, which the Senate passed on a voice vote last month, would extend the expiration date of the program out to May 31, if signed by President Donald Trump. The White House had no immediate response."
