NHK is the Japan Broadcasting Corporation, which is the Japanese equivalent of public broadcasting in the U.S. Their website includes fast links to breaking news on the disaster, which is better-informed and more reliable than many mainstream media.

Kyodo News Agency (English) [6]
Kyodo is roughly equivalent to the Associated Press in the United States -- it is a nonprofit cooperative, and larger than most other Japanese outlets. It is a professional, objective source of breaking news.
