SEJ Mourns Passing of Member/Volunteer Parimal Rohit

Members of the Society of Environmental Journalists were saddened to learn of the passing on Oct. 7, 2025, of veteran journalist and podcaster Parimal Rohit, a long-time member and volunteer. Parimal joined SEJ in 2017 and served on the Awards Committee, the Editorial Advisory Board, and as co-editor of SEJournal's Inside Story column.

Parimal was featured in SEJournal for his environmental podcasting expertise:

“Parimal, or P-MO to his friends, brought a wonderful energy and commitment to his work with the SEJournal,” recalled Adam Glenn, SEJ’s editorial director of publications. “He always seemed to have new ideas for us and, seemingly, for every shop he worked in. But he brought with him an unmistakable compassion for his colleagues, his family and the world. And for everyone, like me, who marveled at his porkpie hats, he did it all with panache. His spirit will be truly missed.”
