Since 1970, the International Association for Volunteer Effort [1] (IAVE) has organized dozens of international conferences to give diverse volunteer leaders—from nonprofit, corporate, government and academic sectors in more than 100 countries—an opportunity to learn from thought leaders, share best practices, and be energized by how volunteer efforts are improving communities around the world.

The theme of the 27th IAVE World Volunteer Conference [2] is PEOPLE POWER: CREATING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE THROUGH VOLUNTEERING. In the face of difficult progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, hundreds of volunteer representatives will make the case that volunteer action is essential, and has untapped potential, to help the world achieve a sustainable future. The event is a springboard into planning for the UN International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development [3] in 2026.
