Join us for a day of insightful discussions with leading experts addressing the increasing dangers of radioactive waste and exploring actionable solutions. Hosted by the Samuel Lawrence Foundation in cooperation with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, on July 24, 2024 at UC San Diego, panels will assess the current state of radioactive waste dangers at the San Onofre Generating Station (SONGS), in coastal areas of the U.S. and nationwide.
The symposium will feature opening remarks by Margaret Leinen, PhD, Vice Chancellor and Director of Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and presentations by prominent voices such as Congressman Mike Levin, Rear Admiral Len Hering (USN-ret.), Gregory Jaczko, physicist and former chairman of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Amory Lovins, co-founder and chairman emeritus of RMI, and Mark Z. Jacobson of Stanford University.
The event is free and open to the public. Space is limited, and registration is required.
