"Maria: Echoes Of Whitefish Surface In $200M Puerto Rico Grid Deal" [1]

"A young Oklahoma company's $200 million contract with Puerto Rico's bankrupt power utility recycles controversial language from an earlier deal with Whitefish Energy Holdings LLC, documents show.

Cobra Acquisitions LLC, a grid-focused subsidiary of Oklahoma City-based oil and gas company Mammoth Energy Services Inc., entered the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority's (PREPA) orbit after Hurricane Maria destroyed the island's power grid last month, according to accounts from both companies' officials.

On Oct. 19, PREPA Executive Director Ricardo Ramos and Mammoth Energy CEO Arty Straehla signed off on a $200 million contract for Cobra to conduct damage assessments, restore downed power lines and repair electrical substations, among other services."
