"Senators Move To Expedite Debate On Conservation Legislation" [1]

"The Senate moved last night to expedite major bipartisan conservation legislation to the floor for consideration.

Several lawmakers, as expected, introduced a bill yesterday that would reduce the multibillion-dollar deferred maintenance backlog in national parks and on public lands, as well as permanently fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund (Greenwire, March 9).

Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.), one of the lead sponsors of the "Great American Outdoors Act," invoked a Senate rule last night to begin the process of placing S. 3422 directly on the floor. Rule 14 allows legislation to bypass the committee process."

Kellie Lunney reports for E&E Daily March 10, 2020. [2]
