"Trump Eases Shipping Rules As Anger Grows Over Puerto Rico" [1]
"President Trump this morning responded to mounting political pressure and a plea from Puerto Rico's governor by loosening little-known shipping rules to ease fuel transport to the storm-battered territory.
Gov. Ricardo Rosselló asked the White House last night to temporarily waive the Jones Act, a federal law meant to promote U.S.-owned and -operated vessels. The statute can make it more expensive to ship goods to Puerto Rico.
Trump's decision to ease the 1920s law was directly related to Rosselló's request, according to a tweet from White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders this morning."
