Agenda for SEJ's 26th Annual Conference [1]
It's not too late to join us for #SEJ2016 in Sacramento, California, hosted by Capital Public Radio and UC Davis. Walk-ins on site are welcome, though some ticketed events and tours may be sold out.
[2]Peruse the draft agenda [1], book your room, [3] find a roommate or carpool companions [4] (SEJ members only), read speaker bios. [5] To find attendees, facilitate networking, keep abreast of agenda updates and more, download the Whova app. [2]
Attendees are in the field on Thursday, at one of nine all-day tours [6]. (Image: The Mussel Point is launched in Bodega Bay. Photo courtesy of UC Davis.) Afterwards are the ever-popular independent hospitality receptions and exhibitor sneak peek. [7] Following Friday's sessions [8] and networking happy hour, [9] we'll go out on the town for beat dinners. [10]
Saturday [11] has concurrent sessions, a technology lunch plenary and afternoon mini-tours. Don't miss the Saturday night party!! [12] We'll begin at UC Davis’ Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science [13] for wine and beer, olive oil, honey, tomato and other tastings and tales of innovative food research. Dinner will be in the nearby Good Life Garden. [14]
Following dinner, attendees will have a choice of a dance party (entertainment by climate rapper Baba Brinkman [15], pictured, followed by our band for the evening, One Sharp Mind, [16] whose guitarist is a retired biology professor) or a taping of the public radio show "Science Friday." [17] Pre-registration and $35 fee required. Missed signing up for the party or show taping? You can add this event to your registration on site, as long as tickets last.
