"Bill Would Boost Interior Funding, Spurn Reorganization" [1]
"House Democrats this afternoon proposed to increase spending for the Interior Department while rejecting some of the administration's key plans.
The bill, up for subcommittee markup tomorrow, would give Interior about $833 million more than the fiscal 2019 enacted budget and overall devote more investment to conservation, public lands and wildfire management.
The department would receive $13.8 billion in fiscal 2020, $1.2 billion more than the overall $12.6 billion the Trump administration has recommended.
Appropriators by and large rejected the White House's proposed cuts to the department's major agencies and programs, including the Land and Water Conservation Fund. They also ignored funding requests for Interior's ambitious management overhaul."
